Real Women of Philadelphia (Cream Cheese) {+giveaway}

Have you heard of the Real Women of Philadelphia competition?

Real Women of Philadelphia is calling all cooking enthusiasts. I love finding new recipe ideas as well as connecting with others, even if I don't think I have what it takes to compete in the recipe and cooking competition. I see that dessert week is coming up...can't wait to see what people come up with that week. It is pretty excited to see what people are submitting!

Emily's Proactiv Challenge

If you remember, we are taking part in the Mom Central 30 Day Proactiv Challenge.

We now have our kit and we are now well underway into our 30 days.

I think she has pretty normal teenage acne. Really, nothing which is too noticeable, and if we didn't have this opportunity to try out NEW Proactiv, I doubt we would of treated with anything. Just with good old fashioned face washing.

I will report that after the initial couple of days, I noticed her skin to have a nice rosy, healthy glow about it. Certainly, not what we consider normal for December.

Halloween Countdown

Little boxer boy

I finally was able to convince the kids they needed to make a final decision on their choice of Halloween Costumes. Isn't it hard to believe how quickly the Fall is progressing?



To find the perfect costume for Matthew, we began scrolling through the Kids Halloween Costumes. Selection and choices was plentiful and quite diverse. He became quite excited by many, until he found the perfect one!

Matthew is going to dress up as a boxer! This cool costumes comes with a muscular body suit with muscle chest, a hooded robe with logo, and matching boxing gloves. He is so excited about this costume, that he was telling the other kids at the bus stop about it!

Ordering was so easy. I love that you are able to see right under the costume if the size you require is in stock. At this point it is pretty frustrating if you order a costume that is backordered. Cute Kids on Halloween!

This morning I was talking to a friend and neighbour at the pool while the kids were having their lessons. We were talking about how cute babies and toddlers are in their Halloween costumes. All three of my kids were little pumpkins for their first Halloween, and she said the same for her kids. I actually remember her daughter on her first Halloween, she came to the door in her little pumpkin costume and was completely adorable. I came right home and took a look to see what Halloween costumes for kids I could find.

Halloween Traditions Continued

Today, we had a party with seven year old boys. A dad dropping off one of our guests asked my husband what his plan for Halloween was this year. We were a little stumped because we haven't given any thought to what my hubby should dress up as this year. You see, he is known in our neighbourhood as always dressing up. It has become his tradition and now we know that our neighbours are now looking forward to it too.

Lucky for us, this year my husband has a huge selection of costumes available at his finger tips, thanks to Pure Costumes.

The challenge of finding age appropriate costumes

Last night I had two twelve year old girls sit on my living room couch and browse the Halloween costumes at Pure Costumes. They had a great time giggling and picking out some of their favourite costumes.


Emily and her best friend are planning to do matching costumes this year. Which, I think is completely fun. My only issue is both of these girls look several years older than twelve, and neither of them fit into childrens costumes anymore, nor would they want to. So, my quest will be to find some age appropriate costumes that make mom happy, but, at the same time make twelve year old girls happy as well.

I remember always wanting to dress up in a cheerleader costume, so I thought this might be a good compromise. Looking at Pure Costumes we found some great choices.
