Previously, we've had other LeapFrog toys in our home, and I've always thought that LeapFrog hit the nail on the head when it came to providing a great mixture of learning and fun. This time around LeapFrog has exceeded my expectations with the Leapster Explorer.
Leapster Explorer was new in 2010 and quickly became the number one selling hand-held child's game. And I can see why! Leapster Explorer is geared toward 4 - 9 year olds, and because of that it is super strong and sturdy. It has a large, interactive full-colour screen.
Jillian is only four years old, so receiving this system right at the beginning of the suggested age range has made me really excited. Watching her play with the Leapster Explorer has shown me how user and child friendly it really is. Jillian was easily able to pick up the unit and with just a small amount of assistance from her daddy she was on the way. It makes me so proud to hear and see her interacting with the Leapster Explorer and I know she is making gains in her learning as she plays.
By the end of 2010 Leapster Explorer had over 40 learning play experiences, which include e-books, and videos. I am most excited about a photo and video app. I know Jillian, who is always sneaking our camera would completely enjoy discovering and playing with it. Jillian's birthday is coming up this summer and the camera and video recorder is already on the wish list.
It's a world of play and learn with the Leapster Explorer, the system is really like no other that I've ever seen or purchased for my children. The possibilities are endless with this system and it promises to fill hours with learning and laughter.
