Ontarians ~ Baking Shortbread with GayLea! {giveaway}

I am a huge fan of Gay Lea, not just because of the top quality products they are making right here in Ontario, for Ontarians, but, for what Gay Lea does for the communities of rural Ontario. Maybe, you aren't aware that Gay Lea is a co-operative, which means they are actually in partnership with the farmers which produce the milk that Gay Lea buys to make all of their products. Being a life-long resident of rural Ontario this is very important to me.







We all know that good things grow in Ontario. However, as the snow is piling up around us this week, I think most of us think that nothing is growing in Ontario this time of year. But, not so when it comes to milk producers. Growing up and living in rural Ontario, I know that dairy farmers work 12/7, 365 days a years and Gay Lea is right there with them producing and manufacturing quality milk products for us.

Gay Lea has been manufacturing milk products for over 50 years and they are the leaders in retail, industrial and food service providers here in Ontario. My fridge is always stocked with many products from Gay Lea, such as, cottage cheese, cheese, sour cream, and of course butter.

This time of year I am certain to keep a couple of pounds of butter for days like today. Here, I am snowed in and what better time than now to bake up some tasty shortbread for the holidays.
