As I grew up, I remember that we always received a special children's picture book on Christmas morning. Inside the book was an inscription saying who the book was for and the year it was given. After I had children of my own, I continued this timeless tradition. Now, every year we bring out our special holiday books and read through them together. As my kids learned to read they became the reader of the stories. Often, these kinds of books are the trigger to many memories of Christmas past. Each year I seek out a new picture book to share and become our 'book of Christmas.'
