It has been an awful long winter here in southern Ontario, and I admit that my children are long bored of playing out in the snow drifts, sledding has lost it's charm, and even skating has become tedious. It is so easy to plop down in front of the television and cuddle down under your favourite blanket and just have a lazy day in front of the television. I know I am perfectly happy in that position and the whole day can fly by with little or no physical activity.
Playhouse Disney Canada knows this too and we are going to be seeing some fun new segments when tuning in to watch our favourite Disney programming. Last week, I am sure you started to see Mickey Mouse Clubhouse ~ Mickey's Mousekersize, which is now airing and also available on Playhouse Disney On Demand, as well as Playhouse Disney Online. Mickey's Mousekersize is going to be getting us on our feet and moving with our kids, and it couldn't come at a better time for my family as we sink further into the couch cushions.
One of the favourite activities in my home is dance. Both my son and daughter like to get wiggling to a favourite tune. We have always been a family who has music in the home, and we can easily incorporate it into a fun family dance off in the living room. All this excitement around Mickey's Mousekersize, had me reminiscing of my childhood days in the seventies. I can remember being given a Disco Mickey Mouse record and I played and danced to that darn record for hours on end. I wonder if it is still in my parent's basement? (I bet it is)
My kids are already talking about Mousekersize and asking me if a certain activity counts as a mousekersize? It is cute and fun to watch them, plus it is helping them to live a healthier lifestyle...and that makes this mom happy!
