When I first discovered Zak! I was attracted to their children's dinnerware and drinkware. I knew that my kids would be over the moon thrilled with their favourite characters on their plates and cups. And, then when Zak! agreed to a review here at Country Mouse, City Mouse they suggested one of their newer products, but the product wasn't for kids, it was for moms and dads. I thought, that if I loved Zak! for their kids products, I was really going to love Zak's kitchen prep products. Zak! is on a mission to give us the option of fashion and fun in an unique way!
I received a set of Mellow 8pc Mixing Bowl Set with Lids. I thought after reading the description of the bowls that this would be a set that I would like...little did I realize how much I was going to love this set! One thing I have never owned is a bowl set with matching lids. Somehow I managed through, but, now I know I could never live without my Mellow Bowl Set.
The Mellow 8pc Mixing Bowl Set is four different sized bowls which fit perfectly inside of one another, making them stacking bowls and easy to store (which I love). They have lids that fit like a glove, there wasn't any worry that those lids would pop off leaving behind a spilled mess.
These bowls can go from the microwave, to the table, to the dishwasher and the fridge. They are made from recyclable polypropylene, and are lead free. Having a non skid bottom make these bowls awesome for mixing up homemade goodies. I think we have all been there when the mixing bowl decides to make a trip across the counter (or onto the floor) mid-mix. So, one of my favourite features is that they stay put.
It is difficult to find the words to describe the texture of the bowls, they have a smooth finish. I love that the bowls are progressively larger or smaller - depending how you look at it. Some of the uses I have found for my bowl set is mixing pudding and storing it in the fridge, serving salad, and keeping my left-overs fresh. The lids are such a great feature! Left overs remain fresh inside the bowl and there is no mixing of fridge odours. Even better, you can take your left-overs right from the fridge and pop them in the microwave.
Reading about the bowls, it says they are stain proof. I am pretty nervous about this test, since I have sauce stained plastic bowls, but, next time we have spaghetti I am going to put my left-overs in my Zak bowl...I will let you know if I end up with stained bowls. From what I have seen from Zak!, I would have to guess that the bowls will clean up like a dream.
Browsing Zak!, I found a couple of Christmas gifts. Find a retailer near you, in my opinion everyone should have some Zak! in their home!
