Ashamed, I admit my kids were taking plastic baggies to school in their lunches, lots and lots of baggies. I tried at the beginning of the school year and purchased stainless steel sandwich and snack keepers, they were costly and all was good for a couple of weeks. And then, the blue paint on the lid of the container began to peel and my kids were saying there was paint in their sandwiches. So, I figured that paint in the sandwiches was worse than baggies and I reverted to the baggies.
But, the guilt I felt each day loading up the lunch bags was eating away at me. I wanted to do the right thing for the environment and my family and find a lunchbox system which I could use and be happy about using. I was on the quest for the right reusable containers!
Everything has recently changed in my home when I was introduced to the Easy Lunchbox System. Designed by a mom (so you know it is done right) the Easy Lunchbox System is a simple interlocking system which is revolutionizing how moms are now preparing lunch.
Easy Lunchbox containers are three compartment, BPA free plastic food storage containers. You can safely place these containers in the dishwasher, microwave and can go from fridge and freezer.
To accompany the containers is the lunch bag. Again, these are PVC and lead free fabric bags. The insulated lunch bag is perfect for carrying your containers, leaving lots of room for all the extras like a yogurt cup or bottle of water.
Sounds like a great system, but how does it actually work in a busy home?
I have put the Easy Lunchbox System to the test over the last couple of weeks. There are many aspects that are making this mom happy! I love that the bottoms and tops of the containers are interchanging and you are never left looking for the matching part of the container, clean up is a breeze as well, since they are dishwasher safe.
Lids fit securely on the tops of the containers and I was a little worried if my youngest kids would be able to get the tops off, however, they didn't have any issues getting to their lunch. All the food items remained neatly in their compartment and there wasn't any problems with the foods mixing together (we all know kids will turn up their noses at food if they are mixed together) The lunch bag itself is a perfect size, it is large enough for all the lunch which I am accustomed to sending with my kids. But not too big that is is filling up their backpacks and not leaving enough room for the other gear they need for school.
FINALLY, this mom has found the answer to the quest to find the perfect lunchbox system. I am so happy with this product and a little proud of myself too.
